ARIZONA MUSE
My life’s mission is to raise awareness about the climate emergency and to encourage governments, brands and individuals to put sustainability at the forefront of their agenda. I am a mother, a model and an environmentalist. My environmentalism began through being a model. I realised that I didn’t know anything about the materials my clothes were made from. Ever since, I have been on a fascinating and eye-opening journey, educating myself about the truth of how things are actually made, who makes them and the impact this cycle has on planet Earth.
We can leverage the incredible platform that is fashion, and the power it has to influence the rest of the world. It’s an exciting time we live in, more and more people care about the impact their decisions have on the planet and the fashion industry is being forced to change. I’m optimistic about the future of fashion and its role in encouraging other industries to make real change.
I want brands to feel empowered and know that they can make a positive impact and lead the way not just in the fashion industry but in all industries toward a regenerative future.

Celia Sears, the backstage of fashion at the forefront
Recent research by McKinsey states that 2020 was the year in which everything changed for the fashion industry. As shockwaves from the coronavirus pandemic reverberated across the globe, the industry reported its worst year, with nearly three-quarters of listed companies at a loss, according to data.
Celia, you have been working in the fashion industry for more than two decades. The industry has changed dramatically during this period. Given your experience, I would like you to tell me what the fashion business is today.
The fashion industry has always been at the forefront of change, constantly challenging socio-political dictates and pushing the limits of what is current, new, in the vision of how the future could be. I think the biggest change I've witnessed is considering the Trickle up theory by J.M. Keynes as part of the norm.
Gone are the days when fashion decided what to wear; now more than ever it is the road that dictates the style and what designers offer on the catwalks.
We consumers are much more experienced than twenty years ago and we now realize that style is much more a personal journey to be interpreted in the way that suits us best.
